The diameter of each of them gradually thin in a conical manner which significantly reduces the size of the connecting knot between the shock leader and the main line. This means the connection of main line to leader passes through the rod guides much easier and smoother. Its major advantage is its red color which visually disappears in 2-3m depth as 1st color of the spectrum to be filtered out by water.
